Quarterly Board Training: Finance Basics Every Board Member Needs

Monday, November 9, 2026 (4:00 PM - 5:00 PM) (PST)

Description

About the Series

Each session runs 4:00–5:00pm and follows the same rhythm: the first 10 minutes connecting as a board community, 30 minutes of focused content on that quarter's topic, and 20 minutes of open discussion — a chance to bring any board question, big or small, to the table. We meet quarterly. You must register for each session.

About the Session

You don't need to be an accountant to be a good fiduciary — you just need to know what questions to ask. This session breaks down the board's financial oversight role in plain language: reading a budget or financial statement, understanding the board's legal duty of care, and spotting the red flags worth a second look. Come with your own budget questions; we'll make time to work through them together.
