Description
Your food program is making a difference—but explaining how and why you do what you do can be tough, especially when you're juggling day-to-day demands. This hands-on session will give you simple, practical tools to help you plan your programs, track what’s working, and tell a clear, compelling story—whether to funders, community partners, or your own team.
We’ll start with the big picture—your theory of change—and break it down into a logic model that outlines what you do and what results you expect. Then we’ll explore how to build an evaluation plan that helps you measure success without overcomplicating things. Along the way, you'll get tools to help you write stronger grant proposals, align your team, and stay focused on what matters most.
You’ll leave with a draft logic model, a framework for evaluation, and renewed confidence in your ability to show the value of your work.
Nancy Bacon is a nonprofit educator known for turning complex ideas into practical tools that nonprofit leaders can use. In 2025, Nancy partnered with the University of North Carolina to develop a curriculum on evaluation for nonprofit leaders. This training draws on that content and Nancy’s nearly 30 years evaluating programs to raise more money and advocate for many important missions.
